About Blue Ridge Suzuki Camp

Since our founding in 1998, hundreds of students and their families have participated in this exceptional experience. Our camp offers a special setting where families and teenagers can immerse themselves in music studies within a supportive Suzuki environment, while enjoying a vacation getaway. We currently offer instruction in violin, viola, cello, and guitar.

When you drive into camp, you find yourself at the end of a road nestled at the foot of Great North Mountain. It feels as though you have stepped back in time, where rooms lack televisions, evenings are dedicated to porch conversations, cars are unnecessary, and people gather to make music simply for the pure joy of it. Children catch salamanders in the pond, and enjoy the freedom of outdoor play in a safe environment. In our camp community, we create incredible music while also coming together for shared meals, swimming, playing sports, dancing, and singing around the bonfire. The week together provides motivation, learning, and enjoyment for all, and most of our students return year after year making new memories.
Community
"I started coming to camp when I was six years old, and now I have friends that I have known all these years- from playing music together, playing sports, and things like the square dance and talent show. It keeps me practicing during the year because I couldn't imagine a summer without violin camp."

Learning
"At Blue Ridge we create a supportive environment where students can explore their potential and be challenged, express themselves through music, and work on technical foundations for lifelong musical enjoyment."

Nature
"Blue Ridge is like going back in time- where kids play freely in nature, a bell calls you to meals, and people socialize on porches. We wish we could have this all year long."
