Blue Ridge Intensive Chamber Music Program Saturday June 19– Friday June 25, 2010
With the Blue Ridge Quartet: Claudia Chudacoff, violin Lisa Cridge, violin Sadie DeWall , viola Lisa Liske-Doorandish, cello
This one-week intensive chamber music experience is for advanced string players who are at least 13 years old. Curriculum includes:
· Two hours of daily chamber music coaching · Four private lesson masterclasses · Advanced string orchestra (Blue Ridge Sinfonia) · Chamber music reading sessions with faculty quartet · Student and faculty concerts · Observation of professional quartet rehearsals · Optional enrichment elective (fiddling, celtic cello, improvisation)
Students must be playing at the following minimum levels: Violin: Mozart concerto or equivalent. Viola: Bach Concerto or equivalent. Cello: Haydn Concerto or equivalent. Students will be selected by taped audition and teacher recommendation. Pre-formed ensembles may apply as a group. Requirements:
· Recording of a piece that demonstrates the student’s best playing (DVD or CD preferred) · Recommendation letter from private teacher or chamber music instructor · List of previous chamber music experience (please include repertoire studied)
