Teen Cottage Students age 13 and older may attend camp without a parent, and will be supervised by an experienced adult counselor in the teen cottages. Mature 12 year olds will also be considered, at the discretion of the Director.
Accommodations Housing is in the renovated Maryland House, Pennsylvania House or Cottages. There are various configurations of rooms to meet the needs of families of all sizes, although certain room types may fill up faster than others. All rooms have private baths with a shower. There is no air-conditioning, but nights have been typically cool and comfortable. Meals are served buffet style in the historic hotel dining room, and a simple vegetarian option is provided for all meat meals. You may also camp at the Orkney Springs Campground (540-856-2585) which is within walking distance.
Commuters We encourage families to stay at Shrine Mont, which allows students to get the most out of the camp experience. If you choose to commute or camp, there is a per-person commuter fee for use of the facilities. Meals may be purchased individually at the hotel desk or you may eat on your own.
Recreation Recreation facilities include a large spring-fed outdoor pool (lifeguard on duty), miles of hiking and fitness trails, biking, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts.
Scholarship A limited amount of scholarship assistance is available, and is based on financial need and merit considerations. Please e-mail for information on how to apply.
